Aceite de Albacete: El Oro Líquido de Castilla-La Mancha

Albacete Oil: The Liquid Gold of Castilla-La Mancha

A legacy that combines agricultural tradition and exceptional flavor.

In the heart of Castilla-La Mancha, the province of Albacete has established itself as one of the most prominent regions in the production of extra virgin olive oil in Spain. With a Mediterranean climate and rich soils, the olive groves in this area have been cultivated since Roman times, continuing a tradition that has endured for centuries.

Albacete oil stands out for its native varieties, such as Cornicabra and Picual, which offer unique profiles. Cornicabra oils are known for their robust flavour, with notes of almond and freshly cut grass, while Picual oils provide a perfect balance between bitterness and spiciness.

The secret of its quality:
Cold pressing, together with manual harvesting, ensures that every drop retains all its organoleptic properties. In addition, local cooperatives have worked hard to obtain protected designations of origin, guaranteeing the authenticity and excellence of Albacete oil on the international market.

The Romans considered the oils of Hispania to be the best in the Empire. In fact, large quantities of oil produced in the region of Baetica (which included parts of present-day Albacete) were transported to Rome in amphorae that today form part of Monte Testaccio, an artificial hill created from the remains of these vessels.

At God Save The Coffee, we offer this liquid gold as a tribute to Spanish tradition, selecting oils that represent the best of this land rich in history and flavor.
